Attending the NABC Bridge Tournament this month in Philadelphia was exciting, enjoyable, and filled with great bridge. I believe we can bring that same experience to Pittsburgh.
Unit 142 is in negotiations with District V to assume full financial and operational control of the Pittsburgh Regional in 2026 and beyond. Our vision includes:
- Moving the dates from Labor Day weekend to mid-September
- Changing the venue to a hotel near the airport.
- Attracting out-of-town players, especially pros with clients
- Offering mini-lessons and post-game hand reviews led by qualified speakers.
- Averaging 80 tables per session.
Your support and participation will be essential to making the Pittsburgh Regional an ongoing success.
— Ron Franck, Pittsburgh Regional Chair & Unit 142 President

The Pittsburgh RONI Regional is named in honor of Roni Gitchel Atkins. Roni was a great friend to the bridge community, and probably the hardest worker in District 5. She chaired the Pittsburgh Labor Day Regional for 17 years, was 2005 Volunteer of the Year of the ACBL, and was Chairman of the 2005 Pittsburgh Nationals. Roni served on the Board of Governors for the ACBL, as both District 5 and Unit 142 President.
