PBA wins the ‘Festival of Trees’ at Old Economy Village
The PBA went out on a limb and entered a tree decoration contest at Old Economy Village. Well, Chris Holt and her friend Kate Olivier did anyway. Bill’s wife offered to do the decoration, and the Bridge Tree not only entered but won the ‘fan favorite award’ as voted on by the visiting public. Chris’s other tree, the ‘Pittsburgh Area Artists Blacksmiths Association’ entry came in 2nd out of dozens of entries. We entered hoping that the exposure might bring us future players. Thanks to Chris and her friend for their creative work on this community project.

Happy Holidays fellow Bridge lovers:
Just a quick shout out from your unit president- You (Yinz) all bring so much enthusiasm to our tables, and that is what makes our community so fantastic.
Hoping everyone enjoys the Holiday season and has a great New Year's Day. I am so much looking forward to 2026 and along with our hard working unit board continuing all the work we have done in 2025. We are planning exciting sectionals along with a special Pittsburgh Regional and 2026 ProAm.

Holiday Bridge Party for Students

Learning Duplicate -- One Board at a Time The Pittsburgh Bridge Association Board decided it was time to take the fear out of duplicate bridge for new players. A duplicate bridge game was planned with a relaxed introduction, comfortable pace and welcoming Holiday atmosphere. Duplicate bridge is about improving together. It is getting better, one hand at a time, with people who are doing the same.
On Saturday, December 13, at 12pm, 28 new bridge players entered the Community Room at Sweetwater Center for the Arts, Sewickley, PA. The players were from various parts of Pittsburgh. The tables were set - boards neatly in place, and Bridgemates were ready. The coffee was brewing. Two auction baskets waited quietly for attention...
