Who wants to be ON A COMMITTEE? Okay it’s not anywhere near as bad as it sounds!
Teaching Bridge to beginners is Fun! And rewarding. And you don’t need to be an expert player to do it.
At present we have beginner lessons ongoing or scheduled in Glenshaw, Treesdale, Bridgeville,
Sewickley, and Mt. Lebanon. But as you can tell from our ‘table counts’, it’s not enough.
We need teachers! And helpers! Teachers run the class, but Bridge is best taught with a helper orthree in the class to answer at-table questions. And fill in as ‘players’ to make up a full table. And – it’s a blast. Really fun. And you will have the full support of the PBA Board for materials and assistance.
We are in need of a Teacher and helpers in the East Hills / Monroeville area. And we intend on
approaching gifted student programs throughout the area, to get Bridge into the schools. But we cannot contact these teachers before having our ducks in line, and enough people to handle
whatever demand may exist out there. Right now our ‘Education Committee’ includes Lorraine Hanna, David Loeb, Phylllis Geinzer, Todd Hertzberg, Ron Franck, and myself as chair. The more oars in the water, the faster the boat goes.
We will be growing education opportunities as more volunteers come forward. So if you’d like to
have an enjoyable experience, and keep the game you love alive and well in the ‘Burgh, contact me at burghboyb@gmail.com.
And, NO! You don’t gotta be on some committee!
