Bill Holt: 4NT - with the answer assumed to be denying the Ace of D. 5D as Exclusion KCB would work but the wrong answer could get us too high. As 4H shows the Ace of H and denies a cheaper Q-bid, 4NT will have the same effect as XKCB. 5C Q-bid doesn't answer the issue of Spade keycards. Ernie Retetagos: 4 NT. Partner is making a slam try and denying the Ace of diamonds. Key card for spades should tell me what I need to know Roni Atkins: 6S - I really do hate this hand. I can't bid blackwood because of my void and cue bids stop me from asking about the quality of the spade suit. If partner has a super max (3 key cards and the queen) they will bid seven. Mary Carns: 4NT. Keycard Blackwood. Partner doesn't have the diamond ace, so this is an exception to the rule of not bidding Blackwood with a void Jim Bossert: 5C Could be seven if partner has all the spades Gail Carns: 5S How good are your spades? Herb Sachs: 5H: SWEEP—This is a bid that guarantees clubs, diamonds and hearts. (Ed note: WOW) Richard Finberg: 5D, followed by 6C over 5S. The question is how to get to 7S if partner has AKxxxx of S, along with H Ace, and how to stop in 6S otherwise. Bruce Keidan: 5C. And 6D over 5S. Why didn't I splinter raise with 3D at my second turn? Jim Bachelder: 5S, Do you have good trumps? I've got tons more cuebids that I could make but wouldn't it be silly to bid a slam opposite AXXXX, AJX, KQJX, X (15pts) when all partner really needs is: AKXXX, AXX, XXX, XX (11pts). Asim Ulke: I bid 5H. This is probably an unorthodox bid. But it is the only bid that shows C and D controls with H king. My spades are not good enough to bid 6S. Florine Walters: 5S Partner needs two of the top three honors to make a slam. Arlene Port: 5C—This gives partner room to cue bid and if that happens, I will q-bid 5 diamonds next time around. Brian Ellis: 6S. It is possible that 5S would be construed as asking for a D control. It is unlikely that partner is weak in S for the action taken. If partner has AKQx(x) in S, 7S should be biddable by partner. Partner should not move with KQxxxx or Kxxxxx because grand slam force could have been used. Internet Post Results:
